Training is a pillar of the firefighting profession, and at Piercetown Fire Department, that is no different. Piercetown Firefighters hone their skills through State-Mandated training, National training seminars, as well as on-the-job training during station meetings. This relentless dedication to training ensures that Piercetown firefighters are able and capable of performing the appropriate skills at the scene of an incident. Piercetown Fire Department would very much enjoy the opportunity to intertwine our training with the public, whether it be through pre-incident planning with our local businesses, or helping you and your family formulate a plan of escape in the event of a fire at home. Please do not hesitate to Contact Us if you are interested in helping us train!
Training Burn:
In April of 2016, Piercetown Fire Department had the opportunity to apply concepts and techniques learned in both the classroom and at the training facility in situation that mocked a real-world scenario. This house was to be demolished, and the opportunity to use the house as a training burn was donated by the owner and their family to the Fire Department. Members of the fire department were able to practice hand-line advancement, roof ventilation, ladder placement, exposure protection, and pump operations under conditions that would be present at a fully-involved structure fire.
